All monitoring visits for Prekindergarten Expansion Grants will be conducted virtually or by desk monitoring. Any grant requirements for in-person site observations are suspended until May 31st or until further notice. All Pre-K Monitors will be available to school systems and community-based programs virtually, by email, and by phone. Please reach out to your assigned Grant Monitor if you have questions or require additional information
Local School System Pre-K grantees are following the direction of the State Superintendent of Education as it relates to all local public school systems.
Community-based programs should exercise caution to keep their communities safe; the decision to close will be a programmatic decision for each community-based program individually. Please inform your Pre-K Monitor of any planned closings. Community-based programs that decide to close can also decide whether or not to compensate teachers during the closure. Please note: there will be no additional grant funds. The grant is funded to compensate a teacher for 180-days.
Community-based programs that decide to close should follow their local school system in reference to the 180-day requirement. Community-based programs will need to contact the Early Learning Supervisor in your jurisdiction, at the appropriate time, to find out the local school system’s decision on this.
Early Learning Assessment
Due to the COVID-19 all face to face trainings have been postponed. Therefore anyone who received an ELA account after Feb 15th will now have until October 15th to get their teachers trained.
